About this role

Skip is seeking a strategic and results driven Manager for Marketing Technology to play a pivotal role in shaping our Martech ecosystem and driving exceptional customer experiences. In this role, you'll spearhead diverse projects vital to our business growth. Leading a team of Martech specialists, you will bridge the gap between marketing strategy and technical execution, leveraging your deep understanding of Martech platforms to optimize our Martech stack, enhance data flow and utilization, and empower omnichannel marketing initiatives. Your ultimate thrill lies in leveraging cutting-edge technology and data to drive customer and business value, while maintaining a comprehensive marketing technology stack, to craft an unparalleled experience for millions of Canadians. Your efforts will play a substantial role in propelling Skip's growth strategy forward.

Location : Hybrid- 3 days a week from our Winnipeg or Toronto & 2 days working from home

Reporting to : Vice President, Operations & Strategic Initiatives

What’s On Your Plate :

MarTech Strategy & Execution : Develop, own and execute an iterative multi-year strategic roadmap for the Martech stack, aligning technology investments with marketing objectives, customer experience goals, and overall business strategy

Platform Ownership & Optimization : Own, maintain, and optimize MarTech architecture, with depth of knowledge in marketing automation, journey orchestration, segmentation and customer insight platforms and experience working with key MarTech systems (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Braze)

Data Strategy and Activation Implement data strategies to maximize data utilization and flow across Martech platforms to enable robust campaign execution, personalization, and reporting.

OmniChannel Experience Design : Collaborate with Customer Engagement, Brand and Product teams to design and orchestrate seamless omnichannel customer journeys leveraging Martech to deliver personalized experiences across all touchpoints, including orchestration of offers

Project & Initiative Oversight : Manage projects and teams from inception to successful completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with objectives.

Data Governance & Compliance : Apply data governance standards, ensuring all marketing technology and campaign processes adhere to data privacy laws (CASL, GDPR, etc.) and internal governance policies. Define and enforce standards for data hygiene, tagging, segmentation, and integrations in partnership with the BI team.

Marketing Reporting and Analytics : Partner with BI team to define KPIs, build dashboards, and interpret results for campaigns and user engagement. Ensure marketing data flows seamlessly into reporting systems for attribution, funnel analysis, and optimization.

Technical Collaboration : Partner with Data Engineering and Product teams to manage API connections and data pipelines, and collaborate with Customer Engagement and brand teams on customer communication strategies.

Documentation & Alignment : Develop and maintain clear documentation and diagrams of the MarTech stack and data flows to ensure understanding and alignment across internal stakeholders.

Vendor Management & Innovation : Own Martech vendor relationships. Collaborate with external stakeholders to continuously improve Martech stack, stay updated on the latest MarTech trends, and recommend innovative solutions and improvements .

Martech Stack Issue Management - Responsible for problem solving and resolution of issues that occur with Martech stack

Recipe for Success :

Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or analytical field (or equivalent experience).

8+ years of progressive MarTech experience, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity.

Deep, hands-on expertise with enterprise level Martech platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Braze, CDPs like Salesforce Data Cloud.

Strong background and proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling principles and practices. Experience with a cloud-based data warehouse (GBQ) and proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (Tableau)

Significant experience in a strategic Martech role with demonstrated ability to develop and execute Martech roadmaps and influence business decisions

Strong technical proficiency in Martech Scripting (AMPscript, dynamic content scripting), HTML. Relevant platform certifications are a plus.

Proven ability to architect, build, and maintain complex Martech stacks aligned with business and customer engagement goals.

Demonstrated leadership in managing technical projects and cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and data-informed decision-making.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

A proactive, highly organized self-starter with a growth mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
