Who We Are
Recycle BC and SK Recycles are not-for-profit organizations managing residential packaging and paper recycling programs in British Columbia and Saskatchewan under extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations.
Recycle BC serves over two million households across 195+ communities in BC, partnering with local governments, First Nations, and private companies to collect and manage more than 200,000 tonnes of material annually. Funded by the businesses that supply packaging and paper to BC residents, Recycle BC shifts recycling costs away from homeowners.
SK Recycles supports Saskatchewan businesses in meeting regulatory obligations for household packaging and paper recycling. The organization partners with local governments, First Nations, and Métis communities, and industry stakeholders to ensure materials are collected, sorted, and responsibly managed and recycled. Through education and support, SK Recycles works to increase awareness and improve recycling accessibility across the province.
We are guided by the principles of extended producer responsibility (EPR), which holds businesses accountable for the lifecycle of the materials they supply. EPR helps:
• Improve recycling rates.
• Drive investment in recycling infrastructure.
• Enhance system efficiency and material recovery.
• Promote circular economy practices.
