Our client, a leading organization in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within a dynamic manufacturing facility. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, effective team leadership, and continuous improvement of maintenance processes to drive operational excellence and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, collaborating closely with the Maintenance Assistant, Planner, and Parts Coordinator to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Champion the implementation and ongoing optimization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to improve planning, tracking, and reporting efficiency.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Provide strong leadership, coaching, and performance management to foster a high-performing, accountable, and safety-driven team culture.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize maintenance processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement (CI) initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional departments.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance maintenance effectiveness.
  • Oversee facility maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost control and effective resource utilization.
  • Coordinate external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance work.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and implement effective inventory control systems to minimize downtime.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and equipment to enhance maintenance operations.
  • Partner with Engineering and Leadership teams on capital improvement and facility enhancement projects.
  • Contribute to annual capital planning and budgeting processes.
  • Build and maintain a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture through regular communication, recognition, and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in developing and optimizing maintenance systems and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM).
  • Proficiency with CMMS software and maintenance performance analytics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
