The Legislative Services Manager provides strategic leadership and expert advice on legislative planning, development and implementation for Primary and Preventative Health Services. The incumbent plays a key role in advancing the Ministry’s legislative agenda and ensures legislative activities are effectively planned, managed, and aligned with ministry objectives, policy directions and legal requirements.
The Legislative Services Manager leads and coordinates legislative development processes across a diverse range of program areas, working closely with ministry leadership, policy teams, legal counsel, Executive Council and other government partners. The position provides guidance on legislative strategy, legislative instruments and approval processes, while supporting the resolution of complex and sensitive issues with significant operational, policy and stakeholder implications.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
University graduation in a related field (e.g., Health, Public Administration, English, Political Science, Social Sciences, or Law) supplemented by four years related experience.
Equivalency:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Assets:
Hours of work are 8:15am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, working 36.25 hours per week in downtown Edmonton.
This competition will be used to fill one permanent and one 18-month temporary role at the M2 (M41Z2) classification.
The interviews for selected candidates will be held in person, in Edmonton.
Selected candidates may be required to complete a written assessment as part of the selection process.
Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
