Job summary

MS Canada seeks a Manager, Leadership Giving to build meaningful relationships with philanthropists across Canada and inspire transformational gifts. This full-time role (35 hours/week) based in British Columbia offers a hybrid work arrangement to advance MS research and care.

You will manage a donor portfolio, develop strategies connecting donors to MS Canada’s mission, and collaborate with volunteers and senior leaders to achieve ambitious fundraising goals impacting more than 90,000 Canadians

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a major gift fundraiser with success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts in five- and six-figure range.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with high-net-worth individuals.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset with senior leaders, volunteers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused with strong initiative and attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM/database systems to manage donor relationships and activity.
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and occasional evenings/weekends for donor meetings/events.

Our team is looking to fill a net new position of Manager, Leadership Giving. This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week, based in British Columbia.

The impact you will have:

Reporting to the Director, Leadership Giving, the Manager, Leadership Giving will build meaningful relationships with philanthropists who want to create lasting change for Canadians affected by multiple sclerosis. Every conversation, connection, and gift you help inspire will accelerate groundbreaking research, expand programs and support, and bring us closer to a world free of MS.

This is a highly collaborative and rewarding role where you'll work alongside passionate colleagues, volunteers, researchers, senior leaders, and donors across Canada. You'll have the opportunity to:

Required

  • Proven experience as a major gift fundraiser with demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts in the five- and six-figure range.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to build genuine relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and opportunities simultaneously.
  • A collaborative mindset and experience working effectively with senior leaders, volunteers, and cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong initiative, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM/database systems to manage relationships and fundraising activity.
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and work occasional evenings or weekends for donor meetings and events.

Assets

  • CFRE designation or progress toward certification.
  • Experience working in a national charitable or health-related organization.
