Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Manager, IT Systems to lead and manage IT operations in a dynamic physical security environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities to directly manage a small IT team, oversee complex infrastructure, and provide day-to-day technical support. This role requires extensive experience in managing IT systems that support physical security operations, network management, and cloud technologies, alongside strategic planning, and budget oversight.

Work Location: This is an on-site role based at Securiguard's Head Office in Burnaby, BC

What You7ll Do:
  • Manage and develop IT Team while actively participating in hands-on IT support activities for Tier 1 to Tier 3 incidents.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure including Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, endpoint management (CrowdStrike, Sentinel One, etc.), Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Parallels virtualization, virtualized environments (Nutanix, VMware), and SQL Server databases supporting critical ERP systems.
  • Oversee full Microsoft 365 environment administration, including Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft Sentinel for security monitoring and incident response.
  • Manage corporate network planning, design, and operations to ensure robust connectivity and security across multiple sites.
  • Provide technical oversight and operational support for physical security systems including CCTV, access control, and alarm integrations.
  • Lead vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service level monitoring to ensure optimal technological support and procurement.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize IT budgets while executing strategic IT planning, business continuity, and emerging compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure IT practices meet current and emerging regulatory frameworks, guiding the organization through compliance implementation.
  • Participate actively in after-hours on-call rotations to support critical IT operations and incident resolution.
What You Bring
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing complex IT environments in a medium to large organization, preferably within the physical security or related industry.
  • Proven expertise in administration of Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, Microsoft 365 suite, Windows Active Directory, hybrid Exchange, SQL Server, Parallels, and virtualization technologies such as Nutanix and VMware.
  • Strong network management skills, including firewall configuration and endpoint security management.
  • Solid experience with physical security IT systems (CCTV, access control) and their integration within IT infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage teams and drive IT projects with minimal supervision.
  • Hands-on experience supporting ERP systems and key enterprise applications.
  • Willingness to support on-call and after-hours operational requirements.
Certifications
  • Required: Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (certification validates skills in planning, deploying, managing Microsoft 365 services, including tenant-level management, identity, security, and compliance).
  • Asset: Nutanix Certified Professional or equivalent virtualization certification.
  • Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) certifications, especially NSE4 or higher, are a strong asset.
  • Additional certifications in cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and IT service management (e.g., CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundation) are considered strong assets.
