Manager – Income Processing, Asset Servicing (18‑month contract)

Location: Canada – Ontario – Toronto

As a key leader within the Asset Servicing team, you will oversee the end‑to‑end processing of all income events managed by the Income Processing team. You will drive operational excellence, mitigate risk, and foster a high‑performance culture aligned with the bank’s strategic objectives and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Drive a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank capabilities
  • Organize, prioritize, and supervise workflows to maintain high operational efficiency in Income Processing
  • Monitor work in progress and provide direction and follow‑up as needed
  • Check and authorize various components of income transactions and monitor outstanding payments from depositories, issuers, and financial institutions
  • Assist in implementing new processes and systems, identifying challenges, and pursuing opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Solve complex problems by identifying root causes and developing preventative solutions
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of transactions and respond professionally to internal and external inquiries
  • Provide technical expertise and specialized assistance related to Income Processing
  • Support team development through monthly coaching, feedback, and training/cross‑training initiatives
  • Assist in preparing performance appraisals and fostering a high‑productivity environment
  • Review and sign off on team outputs to manage risk and minimize losses
  • Ensure procedural and management controls are followed and escalation procedures are adhered to
  • Review control accounts and ensure timely clearing of outstanding items
  • Provide cross‑functional support during high volumes and special projects
  • Perform ad‑hoc functions and sundry duties as required
  • Consider the bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily decision‑making
  • Ensure effective business controls are in place to meet obligations related to operational, regulatory, AML/ATF, and conduct risk
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in Asset Servicing, with a strong focus on Income Processing
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of income processing, stock borrow‑loan transactions, fail trades, and market entitlement compensations
  • Technical aptitude with experience in SQL, VBA, Access, Excel
  • Familiarity with Broadridge systems (ADP, Gloss, IMPACT), DTC, CDS, Clearstream, BNP, Citi, HSBC
