Job summary

Cenovus is seeking a Manager, HR Advisory to lead Tier 2 HR service delivery across Canadian HR Operations. You will oversee the HR Advisory team and ensure efficient, compliant, employee-centered support while handling sensitive information in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a post-secondary degree and 12 years of progressive HR leadership, with experience in ServiceNow, Workday, or SAP as assets.

About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Operations, the Manager, HR Advisory is responsible for leading Tier 2 HR service delivery across Canadian HR Operations. This role oversees the HR Advisory team and ensures the delivery of efficient, consistent, and employee-centered HR support while maintaining compliance with company policies, programs, and applicable legislation. The ideal candidate demonstrates discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information. They are highly adaptable, able to effectively manage competing priorities, and possess strong organizational, customer service, and analytical skills. This role is well suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment and is committed to delivering an exceptional employee experience.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the HR Advisory team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery

  • Cultivate a high-performing team by driving alignment, focusing on priorities, and employee development

  • Enable and influence HR Operations strategy by translating policy, system, and business changes into scalable, compliant, and operationally sound Tier 2 solutions.

  • Lead and execute time-sensitive and confidential matters, including executive support, escalations, reorganizations and involuntary terminations

  • Accountable for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of tools, policies, procedures, and processes necessary for executing specialized case management/advisory requests and people-related transactions

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, combined with a minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in human resources and people leadership

  • Experience working with ServiceNow, Workday, and SAP is considered an asset

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide insights, recommendations, and informed decision support

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
