Job Description
Role Overview

The role is a position within the bank's Third Party Risk Management organization. This role is accountable for advancing the maturity and effectiveness of the bank's third party risk oversight program, providing strategic guidance, credible challenge, and independent risk insight to ensure robust risk management practices that align with internal standards and regulatory expectations. The successful candidate will drive the evolution of the 2LOD's monitoring and testing framework, fostering transparency, accountability, and consistency across the enterprise.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide independent, risk‑based challenge to the First Line of Defense (1LOD) regarding the design and execution of third party risk management activities, ensuring alignment with policy, standards, and regulatory guidance (e.g., OCC, OSFI).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Third Party Risk Office (TPRO) and business segments, offering expert guidance on complex risk matters and control expectations.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of TPRM oversight governance, enabling well‑informed decision‑making and effective escalation of issues.
  • Identify risk themes and emerging issues, escalating to senior leadership and governance committees as appropriate.
Governance, Framework Execution, and Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct effective challenge and independent review of 1LOD monitoring activities, ensuring risk assessments are robust, controls are effective, and remediation is timely.
  • Oversee governance processes and methodology improvements that align with enterprise operational risk management objectives and risk appetite.
  • Lead or support program monitoring and testing activities to assess the design and operating effectiveness of TPRM controls across the lifecycle.
  • Translate results and insights into actionable recommendations that strengthen governance, improve consistency, and drive sustainable risk management practices.
  • Partner across the 2LOD to mature oversight and embed a culture of proactive risk identification and challenge.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
  • Actively manage relationships within and across business lines, corporate functions, and risk partners to ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide timely communication of issues, findings, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, supporting a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in cross‑functional and enterprise initiatives as a subject‑matter expert, providing guidance on complex third party risk and control matters.
Experience & Education
  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or
  • 7+ years relevant experience
