Job summary

Fiera Capital in Montreal seeks a Manager, Global Performance Measurement to lead a team responsible for investment performance operations across public and private markets. You will ensure accurate performance reporting and GIPS compliance while collaborating with investment, distribution and operations teams.

The role requires a hands-on analytics leader with 7+ years in performance analytics and 3+ years of management, plus strong French language skills for Montreal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, business or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred
• Typically 7+ years of performance and investment analytics experience in asset management, with 3+ years of management experience
• Knowledge of all asset classes and attribution methodologies and best practices
• Working knowledge of GIPS® and regulatory requirements in investment industry
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and initiatives

The Global Performance team is one of the four pillars within Fiera Capital’s Global Operations, alongside Portfolio Administration, Fund Administration and Data Management. While predominantly focused on the Public Markets business segment in Canada, the U.S. and the UK, Global Operations administer a broad and often complex range of investment strategies, fund structures and asset classes in support of the Institutional, Financial Intermediary and Private Wealth distribution channels. Private (Alternative Investment) Markets is also supported but mainly through the use of feeder funds (fund of funds). Global Operations teams work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment whereby attention to detail, operational risk, and client focus are must-have traits.

The Global Performance team plays a critical role in supporting the investment and client reporting process through the calculation and validation of Fiera’s investment performance results at the strategy, composite, mandate and client levels in adherence to the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®).

The team works closely with multiple key internal stakeholders, including our Public and Private Markets’ portfolio management teams and CIO offices, the various distribution and client facing teams, Investment Risk, Operations, Legal & Compliance, and Finance.

What we are looking for:

The Manager, Global Performance Measurement is a collaborative leader that is responsible for the investment performance operations and support of Fiera’s complex line-up of investment strategies and products. The Manager works closely with operations, investment and distribution teams to manage the service delivery, operational readiness, GIPS® compliance. This person is a hands‑on subject matter expert in their field with a proven track record of being able to develop and execute through their team as well as navigate effectively within a global firm. As a trusted business partner, the role must be client and solution focused.

Your responsibilities:

• Build a high performing team capable of delivering quality results in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment
• Develop and coach team members, set goals, manage progress and motivate them to maintain a continuous improvement mindset
• Empower team members to participate in and lead high profile projects that will promote growth and effectiveness
• Lead by example and keep employee’s workload manageable and challenging
• Advocate on behalf of the team in any arena where they need a voice
• Comprehensive service delivery for Fiera Capital’s public markets and private markets feeder funds’ investment performance reporting including attribution services
• Lead the implementation and maintenance of all performance measurement systems
• Manages annual GIPS® Firm verification and examination by external auditors
• Help with ongoing interpretation of the GIPS® standards by drawing on practical experience, industry guidance, and external auditor expertise
• Works closely with the investment teams and other operations teams for all matters concerning performance measurement and analytics reporting
• Stays current on industry and regulatory trends and the evolving needs of our clients and partners
• Demonstrate an understanding of the asset management industry and other department functions, collaborating with other departments to bring solutions to fruition
• Maintains strong relationships with distribution, investment and operations teams to ensure client satisfaction and trust
• Responds to client due diligence questionnaires and prospect RFPs

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA, FRM, CIPM) preferred
• Typically has 7+ years of performance and investment analytics experience in an asset management setting, with 3+ years of management experience
• Knowledge of all asset classes and market performance and attribution methodologies and best practices
• Working knowledge of GIPS® and regulatory requirements in the investment industry
• Experience leading cross‑functional projects and initiatives
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to all levels of stakeholders
• Knowledge of Eagle PACE, FactSet, APX, Archer, Bloomberg PORT+, B-One, and Morningstar are considered strong assets
• Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross‑functional environment
• Adaptable to a dynamic and fast‑paced environment
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• French language proficiency is required for candidates based in Montreal.

Additional Information:

• Fiera Capital adheres to a hybrid working environment with 4 days in-office per week.
• The salary range for this position is $130,000- $145,000. This role is also be eligible for additional compensation, including bonuses and employee benefits. This salary range is for Ontario.

For all positions in Quebec (Montreal and Laval), proficiency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Working English proficiency is also required in order to serve our offices and clients around the world.
