Purpose

The role of Manager, Global Compliance Governance supports the Senior Manager, Global Compliance and AML Governance in the development and execution of strategic plans for the Governance Pillar of the Compliance Management Framework. The Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring our business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Accountabilities
  • Support and contribute to governance and regulatory initiatives, identifying risks and control gaps, propose solutions, and develop control requirements.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans for the Governance team.
  • Conduct reviews, analysis, and resolution related to the Governance strategic plan.
  • Monitor and address updates to Compliance Documents, ensuring accuracy and alignment with regulatory expectations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor with business partners on matters related to Enterprise Governance.
  • Maintain records and generate reports for the Compliance Documents Attestation process.
  • Support the annual Effectiveness Self-Assessment of the Global Compliance function, including defining and tracking of action plans from internal or external review.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports, presentations, and dashboards to support governance activities.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to track progress of Governance projects and ensure alignment.
  • Collaborate with Compliance teams to operationalize and anchor Compliance Documents across subsidiaries.
  • Research emerging regulatory requirements and best practices and develop recommendations to enhance Governance procedures and standards.
  • Provide support for governance meetings, as required, including agenda development, document coordination and distribution, securing approvals, and minute-taking
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, with 3-5 years of professional experience in the financial industry or Governance role.
  • Proven expertise in Governance, Compliance, or Operational Risk, with strong working knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as OSFI Guidelines E-13 and E-21, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Ability to clearly communicate policy and procedural requirements to stakeholders, ensuring understanding of accountabilities.
  • Solid understanding of risk management principles, practices, and frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with particular strength in SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Copilot.
  • A creative, self-starting, results-driven professional who thrives in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and team-building abilities.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and resilience in managing competing priorities, adapting to change, and navigating unexpected challenges.
  • Spanish language skills are considered an asset.
