Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis

Scotiabank – Global Asset Management

Reporting to Senior Manager, the Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting Scotia Global Asset Management (SGAM) within Global Wealth Management. The position contributes to financial planning and analysis with a focus on revenue and expense reporting, forecast, financial modelling, governance, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly and quarterly reporting and monthly forecast process for business lines; ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of deliverables.
  • Actively participate in the annual budget process and multi-year forecast for business lines; prepare presentation decks for senior management.
  • Partner closely with business leaders, Canadian Banking finance, and other finance teams to deliver insightful analysis to support decision-making and drive business results.
  • Develop and enhance management reporting processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and usability; lead adoption and integration of new financial systems, tools, and processes.
  • Lead sub‑advised management fee calculation, coordinate reconciliation with external stakeholders, and ensure timely payment of invoices with internal stakeholders.
  • Support finance‑related issues across the division and enhance overall reporting effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • University undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in accounting/finance function.
  • Attainment or working toward a professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of Hyperion, Smartview tools and accounting system.
  • Advanced proficiency with data management tools (e.g., Power BI) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Advanced knowledge of the securities and asset management industry.
  • Broad knowledge of Bank's asset management products and services.
  • Flexible to work beyond standard office hours as required.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a time‑sensitive manner.
  • Effective problem‑solving skills with ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively within and beyond SGAM.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
Location & Compensation

Toronto, ON. Full‑time, Permanent. Salary: $ 36.06 to $ 89.56 per hour.
