Job Details

What is the Opportunity? In this role you will be responsible for providing financial decision support to Insurance and Finance business partners by presenting financial analysis and reporting requirements. You will contribute to the monthly and quarterly reporting for Insurance Finance. The successful candidate acts as the key point of contact for financial reporting and analysis within their portfolio and manages multiple deliverables while engaging with teams across Finance and Insurance.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly financial advisory packages for the Insurance senior management team and Performance Management, focusing on business drivers and highlighting opportunities and risks to long‑term business objectives.
  • Facilitate the forecast, planning & analysis (FP&A) process for Insurance, including periodic forecasts, annual planning and 5‑year planning.
  • Prepare and review financial statement notes in accordance with IFRS and RBC reporting standards.
  • Apply business and application knowledge to facilitate problem analysis across the financial reporting applications, identifying solutions and developing creative options aligned with business strategies and tactics.
  • Coordinate financial information for executive presentations.
  • Fulfill the needs of senior management for a variety of constant ad‑hoc reports relating to actual, forecast and plan, including strategic initiatives.
  • Work with other members of the Reporting and Forecasting team to streamline and improve the timeliness and accuracy of consolidated RBC Insurance reporting processes, including use of new technology.
  • Work closely with business partners to proactively develop and consistently improve upon the information needed to support the management of the RBC Insurance business.
Qualifications
  • Must have a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA: CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of financial services industry experience in progressive finance roles.
  • Understanding of Insurance products and insurance accounting.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Windows‑based software with exceptional Excel skills and experience across financial analytic systems.
  • Excellent planning and forecasting, management reporting, business advisory support skills.
  • Client‑centric focus with strong initiative and self‑motivation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Nice to have: experience with RBC financial systems and analytical tools.
