Job summary

Det’on Cho Group of Companies in Yellowknife, NT, is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting for the organization. You will translate financial information into actionable insights to support data-driven decisions and strengthen sustainability across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate brings CPA credentials, 5+ years of experience, advanced Excel skills and strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration abilities.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation preferred; degree in Finance or Commerce required.
  • Minimum 5+ years related experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Proven financial management skills and knowledge of the accounting cycle and GAAP.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting processes.
  • Provide forward-looking insights to support data-driven decision making and financial sustainability.

What you will do

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for leading the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting & performance reporting processes for the Det’on Cho Group of Companies. This role provides forward-looking insights, strategic financial analysis, and ensures financial information is translated into meaningful insights which support data-driven decision-making & strengthening financial sustainability of the organization.

What You Bring

The successful candidate, will have obtained the following education and /or experience:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred, completion of a post secondary degree in Finance or Commerce required.
  • Minimum 5+ years related experience, including supervisory experience of people and/or deliverables.
  • Proven financial management skills, including knowledge of the accounting cycle and the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required.
  • Experience with multi-entity or multi-division organization is seen as an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Familiarity with Yellowknives Dene language, culture and way of life would be considered assets
