Summary

The Wholesale Financial Close Controller team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager to be a part of the Controller organization’s transformative journey towards becoming trusted and valued business partner delivering Financial Results in an entirely new way through best in class people, processes and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the financial close process, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial results while maintaining a strong control environment and reporting requirements
• Partner with various business stakeholders to understand the business
• Analyze and present financial information to drive value‑add decision‑making
• Provide guidance on new transactions, projects, processes and accounting standards while maintaining strong governance and controlsReview, analyze and summarize accounting for contracts, policies and complex transactions
• Drive transformation of financial close activities through process optimization, centralization, automation, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled solutions.
• Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, systems, data quality, and reporting capabilities, partnering with cross‑functional teams to implement solutions.
• Lead and support strategic projects and organizational transformation initiatives.
• Manage and develop teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related field.
• CPA designation or equivalent finance experience is considered an asset.

Experience

• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience applying IFRS accounting standards, including expert‑level knowledge of IFRS 15 (Revenue) and IFRS 16 (Leases).

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with SAP FI, SAP BI, or similar financial systems is considered an asset.
• Experience with automation, AI, machine learning, or data analytics tools is an asset.

Leadership / People Skills

• Support a culture of innovation - a personal interest in upskilling in latest digital and technology trends
• Passion to understand operational business and its linkages to financial processes
• Attention to details, speed and accuracyExcellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating an ability to make complex issues and processes simple and understandable
• Highly organized, with the ability to independently plan and execute on multiple priorities and demonstrate confidence and composure in times of uncertainty and stress.
• Ability to partner and build relationships to influence and engage with various cross‑functional groups and management levels towards a common vision
• Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues and tasks by leading resolution
• Proven ability to work in a team, provide constructive coaching, and foster a positive and rewarding work environment for direct reports, including virtual teams

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
