As the leader of the Finance / Accounting Function in Canada the Finance Manager for Belanger plays a hands-on role in the day-to-day accounting practices, leading the local accounting team to ensure compliance and reporting satisfies Canadian regulations and company expectations. The Finance Manager is also a member of the Canadian Leadership Team and will be a key voice in the strategic and financial planning as well as day to day management of the Belanger Business. This role currently has 2 direct reports.
Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with US counterparts in Controller and FP&A functions, the Belanger Finance Manager will focus primarily on the following areas :
Provide support to Corporate Finance, Global Accounts Payable and Global Credit and Collections teams as needed.
Process accounts payable, including invoice verification, coding, and timely payment to vendors
Ownership of general ledger accuracy and interpretation of financial results for operations.
Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including review / preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations and internal reporting.
In coordination with the Corporate Finance team, support the annual audit and tax preparation processes.
Provide support to corporate and local management by providing meaningful insights and analysis of results with an eye to improving topline and bottom-line results through sound financial decision making.
Lead Canadian Financial planning and forecasting processes inclusive of departmental / functional area budget development and analysis (Sales, Marketing, Admin, Manufacturing and Distribution).
Identify and champion short-term and long-term margin enhancement and cost reduction initiatives
Manage and develop direct reports (2) with an eye to identifying growth opportunities for the team and the department.
Help to elevate the strategic role of the Finance / Accounting function within Belanger.
Collaborate and lead across the organization with other members of the Canadian Management Team.
7-10 years of experience in senior roles within a Canadian division of a multi-national manufacturing / distribution organization.
Experience leading day-to-day accounting activities for a Canadian Business Unit.
Advanced knowledge / skills with Excel, SAP and OneStream is an asset.
Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize several different tasks.
Self-motivated and detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Results-driven, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including sense of urgency in delivering month-end results.
Experience in cost accounting for manufacturing operations a plus.
Fluent in English and French; able to work in a bilingual environment
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (MBA preferred).
Canadian Accounting / Financial Designation - CPA preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.

En tant que leader de la fonction Finance / Comptabilité, le / la Responsable Financier(ère) pour Bélanger joue un rôle actif dans les pratiques comptables quotidiennes de l’entreprise canadienne, en dirigeant l’équipe comptable locale pour assurer la conformité et un reporting répondant aux réglementations canadiennes ainsi qu’aux attentes de l’entreprise. Le / la Responsable Financier(ère) est également membre de l’équipe de direction canadienne et jouera un rôle clé dans la planification stratégique et financière, ainsi que dans la gestion quotidienne des activités de Bélanger. Ce poste comprend actuellement 2 subordonnés directs.
Relevant du Directrice Générale et en collaboration étroite avec les homologues américains des fonctions de Contrôle de gestion et de FP&A, le / la Responsable Financier(ère) de Bélanger se concentrera principalement sur les domaines suivants :
Fournir un soutien aux équipes Finance Corporate, Comptes Fournisseurs Globaux et Crédit & Recouvrement Globaux selon les besoins.
Traiter les comptes fournisseurs, y compris la vérification des factures, la codification et le paiement rapide aux fournisseurs.
Superviser les clôtures mensuelles, trimestrielles et annuelles ainsi que les rapports.
Apporter un soutien à la direction corporative et locale en fournissant des analyses et des perspectives utiles sur les résultats, dans le but d’améliorer les revenus et la rentabilité grâce à une prise de décision financière éclairée.
Gérer et développer les subordonnés directs (2) tout en identifiant des opportunités de croissance pour l’équipe et le département.
7 à 10 ans d’expérience dans des postes de direction au sein d’une division canadienne d’une entreprise multinationale de fabrication / distribution.
Expérience dans la gestion des activités comptables quotidiennes pour une unité commerciale canadienne.
Maîtrise avancée d’Excel ; la connaissance de SAP et de OneStream constitue un atout.
