Job summary

Beanfield in Montreal is seeking a Field Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day field teams, ensuring safe, on-time deployment and maintenance of our fibre network. You will coordinate with construction, service delivery, and support teams to deliver high-quality service.

The role requires 5+ years in field operations management, bilingual French and English, strong leadership, project management, and a hands-on approach to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in field operations management, preferably in telecommunications or related industries.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of fibre-optic network construction, installation, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with field safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and field operations software/tools.
  • Must be bilingual in French and English.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching, training, and professional development to field staff.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for field operations.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, addressing inquiries and ensuring high levels of service satisfaction.

Education

Post-secondary education in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.

The Role

TheField Operations Managerat Beanfield will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our field teams to ensure efficient deployment, maintenance, and support of our fibre-optic network. This role is critical in maintaining high-quality service delivery, coordinating field activities, and ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The Field Operations Manager will work closely with Construction, Service Delivery, Technical Support, and other cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement in the field.

This role is based out of our Montreal office.

What You’ll Do

Lead, manage, and mentor field operations teams, including technicians, installers, and supervisors.

What You Bring

Post-secondary education inEngineering, Telecommunications, or related fieldpreferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience infield operations management, preferably in telecommunications or related industries.

Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of fibre-optic network construction, installation, and maintenance.

Familiarity with field safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance processes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and field operations software/tools.

Must be bilingual in French and English.

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.The salary range indicated includes a Short Term Incentive Plan (“STIP”) which represents a percentage of your Base Salary based on the achievement of individual and corporate objectives; The STIP payment is calculated based on a formula that takes into account several factors, including, without limitation, corporate and individual performance measures. The STIP payment is conditional upon meeting all of the STIP’s eligibility requirements.
