Facilities & Solid Waste Services Manager
Naturally, Campbell River - Located on Vancouver Island, the City of Campbell River offers a rare combination of a welcoming small-town feel with large-city amenities. We are a 45-minute drive from the winter and summer activities of Mount Washington, and just minutes from more than 100 km of all levels of mountain biking and hiking trails, plus easy access to the ocean, rivers and lakes for sports fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and whale watching.
The role: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Facilities & Solid Waste Services Manager is responsible for the effective management, operation, maintenance, security, and long-term planning of the City's facilities and solid waste services. The manager oversees the City's facilities portfolio, including all City-owned and leased buildings, operational sites, storage areas, and facilities occupied by external organizations, businesses, and individuals.
The Manager leads the City's Solid Waste Services/Program, including the planning, administration, contract management, monitoring, and continuous improvement of residential and commercial waste, recycling, organics, and related waste management services. In addition, the Manager is responsible for the City's centralized Stores and inventory function, ensuring the effective management and availability of materials, supplies, fuel, and related resources required to support City operations.
What we offer: Competitive compensation: Salary range of $111,346 to $126,506, commensurate with experience. Attractive vacation package: 6 weeks in your 1st year, increasing to 7 weeks at the start of the 2nd year.
