The Headlines:

In this role you will lead the Environmental Health and Safety agenda at the Fraser Valley Brewery in Chilliwack, BC. This position is responsible for ensuring that the Brewery EHS Program meets or exceeds Molson Coors Brewing Company EHS Standards. This brewery leadership role is a part of the Brewery Management Team and is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the EHS Pillar and WCSC 2.0 activities for the site. The position coaches the brewery team and defines employee ownership for all EHS activities. The position requires expert knowledge of regulatory requirements, business operations and safety/environmental practices to provide support to the entire brewery team.

This person reports to the General Manager Operations, Western Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Through coaching and facilitation drives the implementation of forward thinking EHS compliance improvement programmes and employee engagement to deliver year on year reductions in both workplace injuries and environmental incidents.
  • Coaches and guides the site team to ensure that all current health and safety, environmental, legal and Company requirements are implemented in full. Ensure implementation and maintenance of internal audit program including all Canadian and Global EHS procedures and requirements. Ensure corrective actions arising from the MCC EHS audit and any learnings from hazard alerts are implemented fully on site in a timely manner. Actively contributes to Corporate EHS projects to help drive change and mitigate risk. Co-lead the local Joint Health and Safety Committee to drive the EHS culture at the brewery.
  • Leader of the EHS Pillar Team. Advises, develops and implements procedures and training for all areas of EHS Pillar at the site. Ensures appropriate support and builds capabilities of the brewery teams to advance the EHS Pillar and WCSC 2.0 EHS tools and resources. Is accountable to deliver the phase progression on the EHS Pillar to support the overall progression of the Brewery.
  • Guides the brewery in its understanding of the overall and site-specific EHS risk profiles by considering the entire spectrum of Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental risks. Steers the brewery team to address prioritized EHS risks and reduce them to acceptable levels via change management. Provides cost guidance for both expense and capital allocations for risk mitigation. Develops and manage the EHS annual operating budget and manage the financials.
  • Ensures the Brewery Management team stays abreast of regulatory and industry changes that impact the site. Is the liaison for EHS regulatory visits. Works with the HR team for claims management and the Early & Safe Return to Work process.
Qualifications
  • Possess a proven track record of achievement in a high speed, high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable evidence of driving World Class Initiatives to deliver on challenging objectives.
  • You are confident and competent. You are diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business.
  • You are serious about delivering results, and take pride in a proven track record in delivering.
  • You are a motivated leader that can inspire others; you respect your commitments and are able to obtain optimal results from your team through respect and development.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years broad experience with a high level of responsibility for Health and Safety in a manufacturing, distribution and/or logistics environment.
  • CRSP or CHSC designation would be considered an asset.
  • Unionized experience would be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to present information data and propose solutions based on identified gaps.
