Job summary

The City of Yellowknife is seeking a seasoned Manager, Emergency Preparedness to lead municipal emergency management and business continuity programs. You will coordinate with City departments, the GNWT, and emergency partners to ensure preparedness and effective response.

With a bachelor degree and 5–7 years in emergency preparedness, you will oversee program development, budgeting, and the City’s Public Safety Communications Center, delivering both emergency and non-emergency communications.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary bachelor degree plus five to seven years of experience in emergency preparedness/response program development and delivery, preferably in a municipal setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the City's emergency preparedness and business continuity programs and coordinate operations across City departments, GNWT, and other partners.
• Develop and maintain emergency management resources and documentation to achieve organizational goals and manage budgets for the position.
• Oversee the City's Public Safety Communications Center and ensure delivery of both emergency and non-emergency operational communications.
