Overview

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the Manager, Divisional Strategic Support who will be responsible for managing the operations of the Divisional Project Coordination team within the Claims and Rehabilitation Services (CRS) Division. The position provides leadership and direction to assigned staff and is responsible for managing the activities of the assigned area to ensure the effective delivery of services and implementation of WorkSafeBC and divisional policies and programs.

The incumbent will also be responsible for managing and producing a variety of statistical, financial, and strategic projects and reports for internal and external consumption that support the efficient operation of CRS.

What you’ll do

As a Manager, Divisional Strategic Support, you will:

  • Manage the operations of the Divisional Project Coordination and Support team to ensure effective delivery of services to the CRS division.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of strategic project coordination services by developing and implementing departmental team business plans to support and achieve the Division's strategic objectives.
  • Ensure that WorkSafeBC and Divisional policies, procedures and standards are appropriately implemented within assigned area including providing advice, guidance, and direction to assigned staff and others on policies, business plans and operational matters relating to CRS strategic project support.
  • Manage ongoing projects, reports, and initiatives critical to the department and CRS division.
  • Respond to external requests (e.g., Ministry) that may have significant impact on their operations and initiatives.
  • Participate as a member of the management team of the Division in business planning activities and provides input into planning and implementing changes and initiatives as required.
  • Manage and direct assigned staff in maintaining high levels of service and in achieving divisional priorities and objectives including hiring, evaluation, discipline, and termination of staff, as required.
  • Manage the financial resources within the allocated budget including planning, developing and administration of the annual operating budget for the assigned area.

Your background and experience
  • A master's degree in a related discipline (business administration, finance, accounting, etc.) or accounting designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with broad knowledge of claims and rehabilitation services operations, experience in executive and operational reporting, strategic project management or operational planning within a complex organization.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
