Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with data management tools and query/processing languages (SQL, Python).
  • 2+ years experience with data analytics and visualization tools (Power BI).
  • 1+ years experience with public cloud environments and developing data quality programs (GCP, Databricks, Azure).

High-quality data is critical to Global Wealth Management & Insurance's strategic objectives. The Manager, Data Initiatives is responsible for executing data quality initiatives, delivering data-driven insights, and supporting data governance efforts within Global Wealth Management & Insurance. This role will measure and contribute to improving the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of key data assets used across Global Wealth Management & Insurance. This role also involves working with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand data requirements, analyze data, and implement solutions.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:



  • Analyze and Interpret Data including conducting in-depth analysis of data from various sources, including databases, data warehouses, and external feeds, to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies & investigate and resolve data-related issues, working with technical teams to implement fixes

  • Collect and store data to enable AI readiness & leverage AI to enhance data, including writing code, and leverage data to enhance AI

  • Profile data, perform data quality checks, and identify data integrity issues

  • Develop and implement data quality rules and monitoring processes & maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, data flows, data definitions, and data quality rules

  • Identify root causes of data quality problems and propose solutions

  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures & work with data owners to define data definitions and business rules

  • Create clear, concise, and informative reports and dashboards to communicate data insights and key metrics to stakeholders & use data visualization tools to present findings effectively

  • Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and other team members to understand data requirements and implement data solutions & participate in cross-functional projects as a data expert

  • Provide training and support to business users on data access, reporting, and data quality tools


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:



  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Economic or a related technical discipline with a focus in Data Analytics and AI, or equivalent practical experience

  • CFA enrollment is an asset

  • Other certifications in programming languages such as Python, SQL or other equivalent

  • 3 + years of experience with data management tools and various query and processing languages (SQL, Python, etc.)

  • 2 + years' experience with data analytics and visualization tools (Power BI, etc.)

  • 1 + years' experience with public cloud environments and developing data quality programs within their applications (GCP, Databricks, Azure, etc.)

  • Investment Management Operations, Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Insurance industry experience, preferably in a leadership role

  • Experience leading technology and/or business delivery initiatives in large, complex organizations, preferably within financial services or data and AI environments

  • Experience implementing a data catalog, quality, and profiling tool
