Job Description

As a Manager in the Data Community of Practice (DCoP) team, you will lead data strategy and community initiatives across all analytics teams in Personal and Commercial banking. This role is pivotal to driving technology transformation, upskilling data practitioners, and delivering measurable ROI through tooling and platform modernization supporting the Sr. Manager, DCoP.

What will you do?
Change Management & Execution
  • Influence and develop roadmaps for technology transitions, ensuring compliance with RBC’s governance standards.
  • Measure and communicate ROI of migration efforts to senior leadership.
Data Strategy Leadership
  • Drive PB&CB wide initiatives around tools and platforms to optimize costs, improve efficiency, and accelerate technology modernization.
  • Ensure data teams have seamless access to high quality data through the use of the right tool fit for the job.
Community & Upskilling
  • Foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and best practices across data teams.
Cost Optimization & Modernization
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical infrastructure (TI) and non-TI costs through tooling modernization and platform hygiene.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Personal & Commercial Banking, Cyber Security, Risk, and Finance teams to align data strategies with business goals.
  • Engage with vendors and internal stakeholders to prioritize modernization initiatives.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
  • University Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Business or a related field.
  • 2+ years in data strategy, data science, or analytics roles in a financial or regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of data analytics and BI tools with programming in Python, SQL, SAS and Tableau.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and execute effectively, balancing long-term vision with delivery demands.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and influence, technology change management, building alignment across diverse business and technical teams.
  • Strong time management, facilitation and communication skills — able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage delivery in an Agile environment (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Collaborative mindset, comfortable working across multiple teams and priorities.
Nice-to-have
  • Understanding of data-driven strategies, data governance and analytics frameworks/patterns.
  • Understanding of GenAI/LLM concepts and tools.
  • Experience working with agile teams and agile program management.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed enterprise environment.
