Manager, Crew Performance, In-Flight Service

Location: Toronto, ON

Reports to: Senior Director, In-Flight Service

Role Overview

The Manager, Crew Performance is a strategic leader responsible for advancing crew performance initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. This role serves as the primary liaison between In‑flight Services, CUPE and Air Canada’s Labour Relations team. The Manager, Crew Performance plays a pivotal role in shaping policy, grievance resolution, and union relations while fostering a collaborative, productive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead initiatives that drive crew performance across multiple bases.
  • Serve as a liaison between the In‑Flight Service department, CUPE and Air Canada’s Labour and Legal teams; ensure open communication and alignment.
  • Represent Air Canada Rouge in high‑level union and company meetings, negotiations, arbitration and mediation.
  • Oversee the grievance process and ensure timely, fair and effective resolutions.
  • Develop and implement strategies, programs and policies that support a positive and high‑performing culture.
  • Coach and mentor In‑Flight Management on best practices in performance management and employee relations.
  • Monitor crew performance data to identify trends and opportunities for systemic improvement.
  • Partner with Labour Relations and Legal to resolve complex employee matters and ensure consistent compliance with the Canada Labour Code.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align crew performance strategies with corporate goals, safety standards and service excellence.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior supervisory or management role within In‑Flight Service, with proven experience in progressive discipline and labour relations.
  • Strong knowledge of Canada Labour Code and federal sector regulations.
  • Experience managing grievance processes and preparing for arbitration.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational issues and deliver strategic recommendations.
  • Bilingual (English and French) preferred.
