Job Purpose
The Manager, Wealth Credit Structuring focuses on customized commercial credit underwriting—new applications and annual reviews—contributing to the quality and profitable growth of the Private Banking customized/commercial credit portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Complete all Private Banking customized/commercial credit structuring activities in the assigned territory/centres, ensuring timely analysis, structuring, and presentation of credit proposals.
- Perform due diligence to identify critical personal/business elements, fundamental risks, and verify material facts.
- Provide prompt and sound recommendations in the analysis and presentation of credit proposals.
- Recommend loan pricing and credit‑related fees that balance risk, profit, administration, and competitiveness.
- Recommend terms, conditions and covenants to produce a viable banking proposal within sound credit lending practices.
- Restructure marginal proposals into bankable deals where possible.
- Communicate effectively with (Sr.) Private Bankers to convey decision rationale and support client interactions.
- Offer guidance and counsel to (Sr.) Private Bankers to enhance client service.
- Participate in meetings with customers, proactively identifying credit and other issues.
- Accompany (Sr.) Private Banker(s) to client meetings, building relationships and gathering information to assess credit needs.
- Identify lending and cross‑sell opportunities during credit application or annual review processes and refer them to the Private Banker and Regional Director Wealth Credit Structuring.
- Evaluate all information received, report deficiencies or negative findings to senior management, and advise on emerging credit weaknesses.
- Conduct annual reviews of commercial loans and services accurately and timely.
- Ensure retail and commercial collateral is properly completed, executed, and lodged per bank policies, including IG code reassessment and relationship exit when appropriate.
- Recognize problem accounts early and take appropriate actions to protect the bank's interests.
- Assist client restructuring, including obtaining additional security or realizing collateral.
- Adhere to regulatory and internal bank policies, including compliance, reputational and suitability risk.
- Maintain the bank’s Anti‑Money Laundering program, Know Your Customer requirements, and Business Conduct guidelines, reporting unusual or fraudulent activity per procedures.
- Accurately communicate and implement credit authorization terms and conditions, reviewing all written authorizations.
