About the role :
The primary objective of the Manager US Market Access Contract Operations role is to administer the contractual obligations, including validation adjudication and administration of all payment requirements for Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease Business Unit Customers. Responsibilities include reviewing contract terms, verifying eligible members and plan claim utilization, formulary validation, dispute resolution, and processing and reconciling payments and chargebacks. Other functional duties cover reporting, vendor code setup support, accrual confirmation, program payment leakage identification, and ad‑hoc analyses.
You will be responsible for :
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims and validations for all Commercial Medicare and State Medicaid monthly/quarterly rebates.
- Managing all chargeback activities, including contract pricing validation and reporting across various COTs such as GPOs, 340B, VA/FSS.
- Providing monthly/quarterly trend analyses, variance reporting, and KPI maintenance.
- Responding to inquiries regarding contract compliance issues and related calculations.
- Working with accounts teams and customers to verify compliance and resolve disputes.
- Building and maintaining policies, procedures, and standards to support all Federal and State requirements, internal/external financial reporting processes, and government regulations.
- Generating monthly/quarterly reporting on all payment activity for GPO, Commercial, and Government payments, and delivering other ad‑hoc reports as requested.
- Collaborating with third‑party vendors to review, verify, validate, dispute, and track State Medicaid claims submissions, as well as Federal programs including Tricare and Coverage Gap rebates.
- Partnering with the GFS Team to ensure accurate and timely vendor code setup/revisions for payments.
- Assisting with additional rebate and chargeback projects.
- Acting as a subject‑matter expert on data validation, contract compliance, master data, and rebate/chargeback processing.
You will need to have :
- Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 8 years Life Sciences Management in pharmaceutical/biotech experience.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years experience within Finance or Market Access, specializing in Medicaid commercial rebate and/or chargeback validation, processing, and payments in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment.
- Strong understanding of Managed Care and State Medicaid rebate processing, familiarity with 340B state issues, and VA Health Care Act pricing and operations.
- Experience managing large datasets, peak cycle workloads, and contract administration.
- Ability to prioritize and multi‑task various types of payments timely while ensuring accuracy.
- Collaboration skills with cross‑functional business partners on contracts and dispute resolution, and effective communication across multiple functional levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging internal and external customers, including third‑party vendors.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint (required) and SAP (preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Demonstrated integrity, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment with excellent communication skills.
- Detail orientation and the ability to meet specific deadlines.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing business requirements and processes.
We would prefer for you to have :
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry with knowledge around commercial contracting and government price reporting.
- Good working knowledge of various contracting and rebate payment systems.
