Title: Manager, Compliance Testing - Corporate Functions Compliance (Spanish Required)

Requisition ID: 270197

Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

Build confidence in how a leading bank manages compliance risk.

Join Scotiabank’s Global Compliance Testing team and take on a visible role where your judgment, curiosity, and ability to turn complex requirements into practical insight will make an impact. As Manager, Compliance Testing, you will support and execute risk-based reviews across Corporate Functions—including Global Risk Management, Finance and Tax, Human Resources, Marketing, Real Estate, Technology, Legal, Corporate Security, the Corporate Secretary’s Office, and Communications in Canada. You will work with experienced partners across the Bank, provide meaningful insights to senior leaders, and help strengthen a modern, consistent, and forward-looking testing program.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan and execute risk-based compliance testing to assess whether Corporate Functions controls meet applicable legal, regulatory, policy, and ethical requirements.
  • Design clear, defensible testing approaches; analyze evidence; identify control gaps or potential non-compliance; and communicate practical recommendations.
  • Contribute to annual and multi-year testing plans by bringing forward emerging risks, regulatory developments, business change, prior issues, and cross-functional insights.
  • Present testing results, trends, and key risk themes to stakeholders and senior and executive management.
  • Partner with management to develop effective action plans, monitor remediation, validate completed actions, and assess whether improvements are sustainable.
  • Build trusted relationships across Corporate Functions, Compliance, first-line teams, Internal Audit, operations, and control groups to support coordinated assurance across the three lines of defence.
  • Identify common themes and opportunities to strengthen controls, simplify processes, improve methodology, and use data, technology, and automation to make testing more effective.
  • Support an inclusive, high-performing environment by sharing expertise, collaborating openly, and contributing to the development of colleagues.
What You Bring
  • Post-secondary education, ideally in risk management, information technology, audit, business, finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably in regulatory compliance, audit, testing, controls, or risk management.
  • Experience applying testing standards, tools, and methodologies to evaluate control design and operating effectiveness is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly interpret complex information, identify what matters, and elevate issues with sound judgment.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver multiple complex reviews within established timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present clear, concise insights to stakeholders at different levels of seniority.
  • A collaborative approach, with the confidence to constructively challenge, influence decisions, and resolve issues with diverse partners.
  • A results-oriented, data-informed mindset and an interest in improving processes through innovation and technology.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Functions and related regulatory compliance requirements is an asset.
  • English is required; Spanish language capability is an asset.
Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to broaden your exposure across the Bank, influence how compliance risks are identified and addressed, and contribute to the evolution of a global testing program. You will join a purpose-driven, inclusive, and high-performing team that values thoughtful challenge, quality outcomes, professional growth, and practical innovation.
