Manager, Communications (12 Month Contract)

Overview: The Manager, Communications will support the Senior Manager, Canadian Banking Communications in developing and executing high‑impact, customer‑focused communications for senior executives, media campaigns, internal events, and issue management. The role requires collaboration with the Canadian Banking Digital, Data & Analytics lines and the broader Global Communications team to shape a best‑in‑class communications function.

Responsibilities
  • Champion a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage bank resources.
  • Support the Senior Manager in strategic communications for EVP, Canadian Commercial Banking and Chief Digital Officer.
  • Write high‑impact content, including executive thought‑leadership pieces, business line initiatives, and industry topics.
  • Develop and execute proactive media‑relation campaigns and editorial calendars.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Studio to produce multimedia, graphics, and other content assets.
  • Share best practices with the Canadian and Global Communications teams.
  • Support external PR campaigns, including press releases, media outreach, and spokesperson preparation.
  • Build and maintain relationships across banking lines and global functions to reinforce brand identity.
  • Logistics and production of internal events (town‑halls) and strategic planning activities.
  • Manage community and support internal communications channels.
  • Lead issues‑management processing: develop issue documents, liaise with media, and prepare statements.
  • Assist in developing key messages, scripting, and training for mandatory town‑hall meetings and media inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with Scotiabank values, code of conduct, and risk management principles.
