Our client is seeking a dynamic Manager, Commercial Lines to lead the Market Placement & Client Solutions team. In this role, you will oversee the placement and management of commercial and personal insurance accounts, ensuring efficient operations, strong client relationships, and high service standards. You will mentor a team of insurance professionals, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and work directly with underwriters to secure the best solutions for clients.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of insurance professionals.
  • Manage staffing, performance evaluations, schedules, and departmental workflows.
  • Ensure efficient account allocation, process improvement, and adherence to policies.
  • Conduct team meetings to monitor performance, objectives, and staff development.
Market Placement & Account Management
  • Prepare and submit insurance proposals; negotiate terms and coverage with underwriters.
  • Maintain client and market relationships, supporting renewals, new business, and midterm changes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members on policy coverage, contracts, and complex placements.
  • Ensure high service standards, accurate documentation, and timely communication with clients and Account Executives.
Professional & Regulatory Standards
  • Maintain compliance with licensing, underwriting, and company policies.
  • Promote organizational values, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Stay current on industry trends, product updates, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide backup support during colleague absences as needed.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Manage staffing, workflows, performance, and departmental processes.
  • Prepare and submit insurance proposals; negotiate terms and coverage with underwriters.
  • Maintain strong client and market relationships, supporting renewals, new business, and midterm changes.
  • Provide technical guidance on policy coverage, contracts, and complex placements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, timely communication, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Promote a positive team culture and act as a backup leader when needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of commercial insurance experience.
  • Valid provincial insurance license (RIBO or equivalent), with ability to obtain additional licenses as required.
  • Professional designations (CAIB, CIP, CRM) are an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
