What is the opportunity?
The Manager, CM Performance Management will assist in advising key members of the COO and Strategy & Innovation leadership team; responsible for financial advisory, while building strong connectivity with the COO Functions and Strategy & Innovation business.
This role will support continuous monitoring of key metrics by delivering exceptional financial analysis and play a pivotal role in building CM Finance’s capabilities to support CM’s strategic priorities around productivity and efficiency; and enabling strategic business decisions through financials analysis including investment / initiatives prioritization, staffing and asset planning

What you will do?
- Producing thorough, accurate and timely budget and expense management reports for the organization.
- Supporting the annual budgeting process including analysis and review of financial information and its impact on the business.
- Analyzing and interpreting financial information for planning and control purposes.
- Prepare financial insights for COO Functions and Strategy & Innovation group commentary in the COO Leadership Operating Committee (SVP/VP) and BCS Operating Committee to enable strategic decisions on investments, hiring and cost management. This spans both departmental expenditures as well as financial insights and advisory to the group’s interactions with other CM businesses on a recurring basis.
- Create and maintain dashboards for improved financial reporting and NIE tracking on an ongoing basis.
- Perform select month end close activities including tracking and investigating variances for management reporting.
- Create monthly financial decks for COO functions and Strategy & Innovation businesses. Track headcount movement on a monthly basis for supported businesses and create relevant reports for executive consumption.
- Further enhance and build on Finance’s internal capabilities in cost reporting to further proliferate learnings and best practices across CM Finance’s Advisory teams.
- Building subject matter expertise on all cost lines and opportunities that can be used to further support cost saving initiatives.
What you will need to succeed?
Must Have
- Undergraduate degree
- 2+ years' experience in complex wholesale business activity, namely a thorough understanding of Capital Markets businesses and transactions, and associated risks & returns.
- Experience in management reporting and analysis, stakeholder interactions and relationship management
- Strong team and people management abilities, and ability to play a leadership role across a wide group of peers
- Keen sense of numbers and strong analytical skills with ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on a continuous basis
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence stakeholders and mobilize groups to deliver on common goals
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Able to consistently exercise independent thought and judgment and adapt to new tasks quickly
- Proactive and persistent in issue resolution
- Experience in complex wholesale business activity, management reporting and analysis, and/or financial resource optimization (capital, funding, and liquidity)
- Very strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Presentation skills required, with data mining skill and ability to explore new technologies to enhance the delivery of financial information
Nice to Have
- CFA or Finance MBA highly preferred
- Solid experience and good understanding of bank structure, risk management concepts, financial markets and instruments
- Experience in financial modelling including understanding of statistics, risk or other quantitative metrics
