Job summary

Baker Tilly Canada is seeking a Manager, Business Valuations & Corporate Finance to join our Toronto/Vancouver team in a hybrid, permanent role. You will lead valuations, due diligence, impairment tests, and client deliverables while mentoring staff and driving BD opportunities.

The role requires a CPA and CBV designation with at least 3 years of valuation experience in professional services, strong Excel/modeling skills, and proven leadership abilities.

Qualifications

  • CPA and CBV designation required.
  • Minimum 3 years of valuation experience in a professional services firm.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated business development skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with review and preparation of business valuations using various methodologies.
  • Lead Quality of Earnings and Due Diligence engagements.
  • Assist with impairment tests and purchase price allocations related to IFRS reporting.
  • Prepare and present high-quality client deliverables including valuation reports.
  • Oversee engagement timelines and budgets to ensure timely delivery.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes in valuations.
  • Manage, develop and mentor staff on professional development.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Identify and participate in business development opportunities.
  • Support Partners in relationship management and practice development.

Your role:
  • Assist with the review and preparation of business valuations using various valuation methodologies
  • Lead Quality of Earnings and Due Diligence engagements
  • Assist with the review and preparation of impairment tests and purchase price
    allocations as it relates to financial reporting requirements under IFRS
  • Prepare and present high-quality client deliverables including valuation reports, and databooks
  • Oversee engagement timelines and deliverables ensuring all engagements are completed on schedule and within the budget
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes and best practices in business valuations and financial analysis
  • Manage, develop and mentor other staff with their professional and personal development
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Ability to identify and participate in business development opportunities
  • Occasionally support the Partners in relationship management responsibilities andpractice development
You bring:
  • CPA and CBV designation
  • Minimum 3 years of valuation experience from a professional services firm
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with financial modelling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
