Job Description

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of MANAGER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT to join our fast-paced, dynamic team in Saint John, New Brunswick. You will identify sales opportunities and engage with current and potential customers to drive sales growth in various market segments. You will lead the development, management, and continuous improvement of the bid process. This role will ensure proposals meet consistent standards and coordinate the collection of key proposal inputs such as pricing, costs, engineering requirements, examples of previous projects, and other information required to respond to bids. This will involve working with the Legal team in the final stages of a bid to negotiate the terms and track negotiated items, and contract management including tracking anniversary dates for upcoming contract expiration, and initial point of contact for customer questions on contract details, insurance, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and execute sales strategy in key market segments.
  • Customer acquisition and management for key accounts.
  • Manage the bid process including initiating bid kick off meetings with internal stakeholders, respond to pre-qualifications, RFI’s, RFQ’s, and preparing bid for review and approval.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure all bids are submitted on time and are of consistent quality.
  • Prepare contract briefing sheets so important contract compliance items are summarized and communicated to Operations.
  • Interact with team members on pricing exercises.
  • Document customer requirements, working with internal departments, and create proposals to meet requirements.
  • Sustain strong internal relationships to gather relevant, accurate, information.
  • Maintain external website, as well as all promotional and marketing materials.
  • Update and maintain contract and customer files, including customer contact information in CRM.
  • Organize bid submission reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Undergraduate degree or College Diploma.
  • Five or more years of relevant commercial experience with sales, estimating, and contract management preferred.
  • Ability to strive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including meeting facilitation.
  • Exceptional written and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Travel may be required throughout Atlantic Canada.
  • Other duties as required.
