We are seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Building Services Solutions, to lead the operational performance of a new self‑perform craft labour division within our Building’s Construction group. This role will be central to building workforce‑readiness programs that support deficiency close‑out, transition services, and construction support across a wide range of internal and future external clients.

As the leader of this emerging business line, you will drive operational excellence, build strong union and workforce partnerships, and establish scalable processes that support long‑term growth. Initially supporting internal project teams, this division will evolve into a client‑facing service offering, with you at the helm of its operational and business development success.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage contracts to ensure full compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Ensure safety standards are identified, implemented, communicated, and adhered to across all work activities.
  • Oversee service execution to ensure quality standards and client expectations are consistently met.
  • Leverage technology to automate workflows and improve resource planning, scheduling, and communication.
  • Integrate with regional estimating and operations teams to support future bid opportunities. Establish and manage an effective self‑perform craft labor program to support high levels of service delivery and business performance.
  • Support new business pursuits by contributing to estimating, scope definition, and bid preparation.
  • Prepare proposals, participate in contract negotiations, and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Standardize workflows, policies, procedures, reporting structures, and scalable processes to drive efficiency.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive onboarding, training, and cross‑training programs to build a high‑performing workforce.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide coaching and support to team members.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with union representatives and partner with Labour Relations to ensure compliance with bargaining agreements.
  • Identify opportunities for self‑perform work through project scope assessment and market analysis.
  • Provide input into the business unit budget and manage the deployment of operational financial resources.
  • Drive operational excellence through disciplined adherence to standardized processes, consistent reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, predictability, and margin performance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of construction field operations experience at the Project Manager or Senior Superintendent, or equivalent level.
  • Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • Strong track record in renovation, improvement, and residential construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance within residential construction.
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing, developing, and motivating high‑performing field teams.
  • Advanced operational and project management skills: planning, scheduling, estimating, procurement, risk/change management, close‑out, and reporting.
  • Experience developing policies and workforce training programs; strong understanding of operational excellence principles.
  • Technical proficiency in reading drawings and specifications; strong analytical and math skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and common estimating, budget, and project management tools.
  • Strong communicator who builds trust with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety; safety certifications considered an asset.
  • Self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and communicates effectively under pressure.
Work Conditions
  • Office based role based out of Vancouver, BC.
  • Travel to sites will be required.
Compensation

$98,800 to $135,850 Annually

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
