Job summary

Apotex Inc. in Canada is seeking a Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting to design and deliver the Commercial reporting architecture, data strategy, governance, visualization and reporting.

This role collaborates with IT to align data architecture, standardize data from multiple sources, and modernize data management using Databricks, Qlik, and Power BI. The Manager will lead BI initiatives for the Canadian Commercial organization, support IBP, budgeting and performance, and mentor team

Qualifications

• University degree: Business, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Computer Sciences preferred
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, VBA, and other development tools as well as Qlik or Tableau. Knowledge of machine learning an asset.
• Proficiency with ETL processes and automation in a SQL environment
• Proficiency with SQL Integration Services (SSIS)
• High level of proficiency in all MS Office applications, including Excel and Access
• Previous experience in SAP or an ERP system
• Knowledge of statistical procedures and applied data validation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with all levels within the organization

Responsibilities

• Execute or oversee ad hoc reporting and analysis for cross-functional teams
• Lead development of Qlik applications for Apotex Canada Commercial teams
• Develop and maintain Data Sourcing standards across tools and reports
• Lead cross-functional project teams to gather requirements and maximize efficiency
• Liaise with GIS on cross-functional projects and align teams to goals
• Troubleshoot issues with active Qlik apps owned by Commercial Excellence
• Develop and maintain Data Source matrix with best practices
• Ensure tools and reports adhere to Data Sourcing standards
• Ensure quality of reporting from GBS Commercial team
• Build and maintain SLAs for deliverables of GBS Commercial team
• Provide guidance on BI initiatives within Commercial Excellence
• Provide actionable insights and time-saving reporting efficiencies each year
• Oversee and execute Commercial IBP reporting and processes
• Work with Analyst on troubleshooting and development for IBP reporting processes
• Ensure IBP deliverables are supplied accurately and on time
• Oversee and execute Commercial budgeting and compensation reporting
• Build and manage a central database for Apotex Canada budgeting
• Build and manage a Sales Rep Compensation database with monthly reports
• Troubleshoot compensation reporting with Consultant, Reporting & CRM
• Ensure compensation deliverables on time
• Develop automation to drive efficiency for all teams
• Roll out tools and processes via Organizational Change Management
• Deliver training plans for tools and processes
• Ensure deliverables are simple and repeatable with minimal intervention

Job Summary

The Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting is responsible for designing and delivering Commercial reporting architecture, data strategy & governance, visualization and reporting.

This person will work with IT to align database architecture with evolving business needs, applying sound database management principles and developing robust processes for extracting, transforming, and standardizing data from multiple sources. They must also develop and maintain processes for retrieving, standardizing, and loading data in an accurate and timely manner into relevant database tables. The role is responsible for modernizing data management and reporting processes, by leveraging best practices and emerging technologies, including Databricks. They will architect scalable data structures that enable integrated reporting across multiple lines of business through a single, consistent reporting framework.

The Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting will be organizing,overseeing, and executing Business Intelligence reporting needs of the Canadian Commercial organization, providing insights and time savings to a variety of Commercial stakeholders through high-quality data visualization, reporting, and analytics. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions, primarily using Power BI and modern analytics tools. They are further responsible for ensuring that all reports, applications, and tools provided to the business are using correct and consistent data sources.

In addition to enabling data-driven decision-making, this role supports commercial IBP, budgeting and performance calculation processes by maintaining data and providing reporting related to budget, targets, and performance. They will take ownership of supplying supporting data for these key processes, working with deliverable owners to ensure deliverables can be provided accurately and on time for each cycle.

They will utilize best practices of Organizational Change Management to guide all rollout plans of new technology and processes. As a Manager, they should take on a leadership role within the team, training on processes, and sharing knowledge and best methods as widely as possible

Job Responsibilities

Business Intelligence:

• Responsible for executing or overseeing ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by cross-functional teams with Apotex Canada Commercial, or areas impacting Apotex Canada Commercial, and as prioritized within Commercial Excellence deliverables
• Lead development of Qlik applications for Apotex Canada Commercial teams
• Reponsible for developing and maintaining Data Sourcing standards to be used across all tools, applications, and reports delivered by Commercial Excellence team
• Lead cross-functional project teams to gather, understand, and execute requirements to maximize efficiency within the Commercial organization
• Liaise with GIS on cross functional projects, develop priorities given limited resources and ensure alignment of all teams to achieve goals
• Liaise with users and GIS to troubleshoot issues with active Qlik apps owned by Commercial Excellence
• Develop and maintain Data Source matrix, defining best practices for sourcing data used in Commercial Excellence reporting, applications, and tools
• Ensures that all tools, applications, and reports provided by Commercial Excellence team adhere to defined Data Sourcing standards
• Responsible for ensuring quality of reporting being provided by GBS Commercial team
• Build and maintain reporting on SLAs for deliverables of GBS Commercial team
• Provide guidance on BI initiatives being executed by Analyst & Consultant roles withing Commercial Excellence team
• Role should provide actionable insights and/or time-saving reporting efficiencies each year

IBP Reporting:

• Oversee and execute Commercial IBP reporting and processes, taking a leadership role within the Commercial Excellence team in this area
• Work with Analyst, Commercial Excellence on any troubleshooting and development required for IBP reporting processes
• Ensures deliverables are supplied accurately and on time for each IBP cycle

Compensation Reporting:

• Oversee and execute Commercial budgeting and compensation reporting and processes, taking a leadership role within the Commercial Excellence team in this area
• Build and manage a central database for Apotex Canada budgeting
• Build and manage a Sales Rep Compensation database that will generate monthly reports and variance analysis
• Work with Consultant, Reporting & CRM on any troubleshooting and development required for compensation reporting processes
• Ensures deliverables are supplied accurately and on time for each compensation cycle

General:

• Develop process automation to drive efficiency for all teams within Apotex Canada Commercial
• Utilize best practices of Organizational Change Management to roll out new tools, applications and processes to stakeholders
• Build and deliver training plans for all tools, applications, and processes delivered to stakeholders
• Ensure deliverables provide a simple, repeatable, output with minimal intervention by Commercial Excellence team
• Support, as needed, any existing tools and processes owned by Commercial Excellence
• Utilize open, honest, two-way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development

The hiring range for this position is $ 95,594.40- $ 133,832.16 CAD per year. The final agreed-upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
