Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams delivering cloud transformation, platform engineering, data, AI, cybersecurity, integration, and application modernization programs within banking environments.
• Translate banking business priorities, regulatory requirements, risk considerations, and operational challenges into practical technology strategies and executable programs.
• Provide architecture-level guidance across Azure, AWS and/or GCP, including hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Lead and influence platform engineering and shared cloud service initiatives supporting multiple applications, development teams, and business units.
• Guide discussions involving cloud governance, landing zones, identity, networking, security, resilience, observability, and enterprise architecture.
• Work with technical teams utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, APIs, DevOps, and modern application delivery practices.
• Lead client workshops, architecture reviews, roadmaps, proposals, strategic presentations, and program planning sessions.
• Help shape engagements from discovery and solution design through mobilization and delivery.
• Remain actively involved throughout delivery to maintain client trust, remove obstacles, manage risk, and ensure successful outcomes.
• Partner with sales, delivery, and practice leadership to identify opportunities to expand existing engagements and develop broader client relationships.
• Mentor and provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams of architects, consultants, engineers, and other technology professionals.
• Influence across teams and stakeholders, including situations where direct reporting authority may not exist.

Manager – Banking Cloud & Platform Engineering

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Manager – Banking Cloud & Platform Engineering to help lead complex technology transformation programs within the banking sector.

This role is ideal for someone who combines banking industry knowledge, cloud/platform engineering expertise, consulting experience, and strong program leadership skills. The successful candidate will work across business, architecture, engineering, security, data, and delivery teams to shape and lead enterprise technology initiatives.

This is not a hands-on engineering position, pure architecture role, or pure sales role. It requires enough technical depth to challenge and guide architects and engineers, while also possessing the executive presence and commercial awareness to work with senior banking stakeholders.

Current or previous banking experience is strongly preferred, ideally combined with experience in consulting, professional services, systems integration, or another client-facing technology environment.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive experience across banking technology, cloud architecture, platform engineering, consulting, technology transformation, or related leadership roles.
• Current or previous experience working directly within a bank and/or delivering technology consulting services to banking clients.
• Experience with one or more banking domains such as retail banking, commercial banking, payments, lending, wealth management, capital markets, risk, or finance.
• Strong understanding of banking technology governance, risk, compliance, security, and enterprise decision-making.
• Demonstrated experience leading major cloud transformation, platform modernization, platform engineering, or enterprise technology programs.
• Strong understanding of Azure, AWS and/or GCP, including enterprise hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Knowledge of cloud governance, landing zones, IAM, networking, cybersecurity, resilience, observability, DevOps, IaC, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, APIs, and modern application architectures.
• Ability to assess complex technology environments, challenge technical approaches, identify risks, and provide clear and practical recommendations.
• Experience leading cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with both senior business leaders and deeply technical teams.
• Previous consulting, professional services, systems integration, or technology-provider experience is highly desirable.
• Exposure to account growth, business development, proposal development, or expanding existing client engagements is an asset.
