MNP in Canada is seeking a Manager in Assurance & Accounting to lead client-facing engagement teams and deliver tailored financial information that informs clients' decisions. Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• CPA designation is an asset.
• Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles.
• Proven people management and leadership skills.
• Experience with accounting and tax software.

Responsibilities

• Lead client facing engagement teams to complete compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls and financial/accounting transactions.
• Deliver industry and technical expertise in assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverables.
• Manage a portfolio of clients while understanding their business, key risks and provide added value; ensure client needs are met and relationships grow.
• Review financial files for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee engagement planning, scheduling and project financials (budgets, WIPS, billing, collections, variance recognition).
• Maintain quality control and apply knowledge to address client issues in business, financial entries and reports.
• Network in the local business community and contribute to proposals to meet client needs.
• Mentor and coach team members toward development and performance reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead client facing engagement teams to complete compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls and financial/accounting transactions
• Deliver industry and technical expertise in assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverables
• Manage a portfolio of clients while understanding their business, key risks and ways to deliver added value; ensure clients’ needs are met and that relationships and accounts grow and develop
• Review of financial files to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
• Accountable for engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (i.e., budgets, WIPS, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
• Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business, financial entries and reports
• Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs
• Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
• Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills And Experience

• 6 years of relevant accounting experience
• Working towards a CPA designation is considered an asset
• Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles
• Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
• Experience working with accounting and tax software
