Job summary

RBC in Canada is seeking a Manager, Associates to lead a sales support team within our financial planning division. The role focuses on coaching, engagement, and collaboration with Financial Planners to maximize sales and client satisfaction.

Lead a market leadership team, partner with Financial Planning Managers, Branch Managers and Regional VPs to improve client experience and drive business goals across RBC branches.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience with a track record of developing teams.
  • Proven ability to acquire new clients and grow the business.
  • Mutual funds license (IFIC or CSC) is required or asset.
  • Branch Compliance Officer (BCO) experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with emerging communications and technology (web-based meetings, MyAdvisor, Digital Banking, mobile apps).

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and training to enable the Associates to champion problem resolution and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with partners to integrate the Associate role as the key support on the Financial Planning team.
  • Coach the team to identify sales and referral opportunities and book client appointments to support planners in closing business.
  • Promote awareness and foster relationships with internal service partners to enhance collaboration.
  • Ensure processes and controls are followed to protect shareholder interests, including account openings, AML, fraud prevention, and regulatory maintenance.
  • Act as a role model and ensure the team delivers on client experience commitments.
  • Drive continuous improvement in employee development and ensure accreditations are up to date.

What will you do?
  • Provide coaching and training to enable the Associates to champion problem resolution ensuring client satisfaction
  • Collaborate with partners to integrate the Associate role as the key support on the Financial Planning team
  • Coach the team to identify sales and referral opportunities, client facing transactions, enhance retention, drive revenue and book client appointments to support planners in closing business
  • Coach the team to fully leverage all service partners, promoting awareness and fostering relationships with internal partners
  • Ensure processes/controls are in place and are being followed to protect shareholder interests, including the areas of account openings, anti-money laundering, fraud prevention, authorities and maintenance
  • Act as a role model and ensure that the team delivers on all client experience commitments
  • Foster a continuous improvement approach to employee development by helping employees increase their skills, knowledge, and abilities and ensuring accreditations are up to date
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing and developing teams
  • Proven application of business acquisition, establishing community and client relationships, and success in business growth
  • Mutual funds license (IFIC or CSC)
  • Branch Compliance Officer (BCO) considered an asset
  • Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e. web based meetings, MyAdvisor, Digital Banking and Mobile Applications)
Nice-to-have
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a diverse team
  • Expert knowledge of coaching and be a change management leader
  • A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in Commerce, Business Administration or related experience considered an asset
