Job summary

BDO Canada seeks a Manager, Architecture & Design to lead enterprise and solution architecture, guiding teams to deliver secure, scalable designs aligned with business strategy. You will collaborate with Data/AI and Cyber Security architects, set standards, and drive modernization while coaching architects across domains.

The role emphasizes stakeholder collaboration, strategic thinking, and delivering high-impact architecture in a rapidly evolving tech environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field; or equivalent education/experience.
• At least 8 years of progressive enterprise technology experience including enterprise and solution architecture in a large, complex organization.
• Experience leading architects or senior technical professionals and building an architecture practice.
• Broad knowledge of cloud platforms, application/integration architectures, identity management, security, data management, and modern software delivery.
• Experience designing with Azure, AWS, and data services; TOGAF or equivalent certifications are valuable.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise and solution architecture function, including team, priorities, standards, and governance.
• Develop architecture principles, reference architectures, roadmaps, and standards aligned with business priorities.
• Oversee solution design and architecture reviews for secure, scalable, and integrated solutions.
• Guide architecture decisions across domains to align with enterprise standards and roadmaps.
• Partner with business leaders, Data/AI and Cyber Security architects to deliver cohesive designs and resolve trade-offs.
• Identify modernization, reuse, rationalization, and technical debt reduction opportunities.
• Coach and develop architects, manage demand and capacity, communicate decisions to leadership and delivery teams.
