Reporting to the Director, Accounting and Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for all corporate income tax calculations and related audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities include
  • Monthly preparation of all corporate income tax calculations, schedules and journal entries for all legal entities within the group.
  • Preparation of annual tax returns and filings for all legal entities.
  • Contribution to the strategic tax planning process.
  • Researching, keeping up to date, and anticipating developments in tax, accounting, regulatory, legal, procedural and technology as they relate to the group.
  • Preparation of numerous monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensuring all reporting obligations of the organization are met.
Must Have Traits and Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and an Accounting Designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) is required.
  • CICA In-Depth Taxation course up to level II (minimum) or MA Taxation.
  • Complete understanding of GAAP and Canadian taxation.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in the tax accounting field in a leading public accounting firm or within the financial services industry.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Confident and comfortable working to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS office, in particular Excel.
  • Demonstrable experience with accounting and financial reporting systems.
