Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee our company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, proficiency with Sage 50 accounting software, and a solid understanding of accounting principles to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records utilizing Sage 50 accounting software.
  • Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform account reconciliation and account analysis to ensure data integrity and identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare and file quarterly HST remittances.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently.
  • Administer employee benefits plan.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role within a corporate environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Sage 50, Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, accounts payable/receivable management, payroll processing, budgeting, and account reconciliation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and prepare comprehensive reports for management review.
  • Strong leadership abilities with effective communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in real estate and property development an asset.
