About the Role

LodgeLink’s Accounting team has a full-time opportunity for a Manager, Accounting based in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Controller, this role is a key leadership position within LodgeLink’s Financial Accounting team. The Manager, Accounting will lead a team of four, oversee monthly and quarterly reporting, and collaborate with Corporate Financial Reporting to support external financial disclosures. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring that all accounting activities are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with IFRS.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, a CPA designation and 2-3 years of experience in people leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative, detail-oriented accounting professional to contribute to a fast-growing online marketplace company.

This is an in-office role, with 20% flexibility to work from home.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for month-end close and ensuring comprehensive variance analysis and reporting are completed on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Accounting team with oversight of month-end accounting entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, income statement analysis, and interdivisional and elimination entries for various intercompany transactions.
  • Present monthly internal financial reporting with variance analysis to Senior Leadership.
  • Review monthly capitalization entries for internally developed software, ensuring the entries align with IFRS treatment and review and intangible asset policy as required.
  • Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting cycles, working closely with the Senior Financial Analyst and Corporate FP&A.
  • Assist with the preparation of standalone financial statements and full note disclosure, and other external reporting requirements as needed.
  • Liaise with Corporate Accounting as BU lead to engage with external auditors for all quarterly and annual financial reporting periods.
  • Research complex accounting issues and ensure alignment with IFRS standards and industry practices.
  • Proactively identify and implement preventative and detective controls to aid in the accuracy and timeliness of financial and KPI reporting.
  • Ensure proper adherence to all administrative and operational processes, procedures, and policies in relation to corporate accounting functions.
  • Exercise professional judgment to strike the right balance between the business objectives of the division and the Company’s requirements under IFRS.
  • Support management in all accounting, tax, treasury, and controls related issues.
  • Other ad hoc duties and special projects as required.
  • Collaborate with the Data & Product Management teams on process improvements and platform integrations as it relate to accounting.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties and special projects as assigned.
People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of four accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear performance goals and provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive team environment that aligns with LodgeLink’s values and supports employee engagement and retention.
  • Encourage innovation and process improvement through knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for accounting best practices within the team and broader organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting designation required (CPA).
  • 5-7 years post-graduate experience with a strong understanding of full-cycle accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and familiarity with audit practices and principles.
  • Proven analytical skills and demonstrated initiative to solve problems.
  • Extensive experience using and learning various ERP Systems and Microsoft Applications.
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of professional interaction with various levels of operations and other departments.
  • Possess a professional and ethical attitude with the ability to manage concurrent deadlines.
  • Working experience with Oracle NetSuite is considered an asset.
