Responsibilities

• Phase 2 (12 months): Customer Relationships and Procurement – manage large-scale projects, build relationships with customers and vendors, read blueprint drawings to quote materials.
• Phase 3 (15-18 months): Account Management and Proactive Sales – find new opportunities, sell products, negotiate contracts, expand customer base, create level 5 partnerships.
• Phase 4 (3 months): Leadership and Operations – provide strategic vision, lead a team, mentor others, set vision and strategy, develop leadership competencies.

Job Description

Base Salary - $52,500 + Profit Sharing

We are currently seeking new or recent graduates to join our Management Development Program. This is a full-time, salaried position with a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to earn profit sharing.

Please note that successful candidates to this position will be required to relocate within Canada to complete their training. Relocation assistance will be provided. We have opportunities available across the country!

The Role:

As a Management Trainee, you will progress through a 4-phased program to learn every aspect of how our business operates – from shipping and receiving, counter sales, operations management to employee development and more. You will get to know our customers by growing a sales territory of your own and providing world-class customer service. You will receive guidance, mentoring, and support from current managers and teammates within a region and across Canada to build a successful management career at EMCO.

Program Outline:

Over the course of 3.5 to 4 years, you will move through four phases of the program.

Phase 1 (12 months): Warehouse and Customer Service

Build your product knowledge and gain hands-on experience with the logistical side of the business and learn how our products get from the vendor to the customer. You will also get involved in our customer service, counter sales, order management, inventory and pricing controls, credit management, financial statements, and more.

Phase 2 (12 months): Customer Relationships and Procurement

Go from helping customers with various customer service issues to managing large-scale projects and problem solving. While building relationships with customers and vendors, and providing world-class service, learn how to read blueprint drawings to create a quote of materials the customer will require to complete their project.

Phase 3 (15-18 months): Account Management and Proactive Sales

With a focus on business development, you will learn how to find new business opportunities, how to sell our products, negotiate contracts resulting in expanding the customer base of the business, and creating level 5 customer partnerships.

Phase 4 (3 months): Leadership and Operations

It is now your turn to provide a strategic vision, lead a team of your own, mentor others, and run the business by focusing on developing leadership competencies, supporting the team through coaching and mentoring, and setting vision and strategy.

Once you have completed the phases of training, you will be ready to take on the challenge of being a manager at one of our Canadian Profit Center locations.
