Job Description : Maintenance Worker (Part Time) at Extendicare

Join our team at Extendicare as a Maintenance Worker (Part Time) . We believe in creating a collaborative environment that fosters growth and celebrates achievements. As a vital part of our maintenance team, you will ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff, providing high-quality care through your expertise and dedication.

This position is based at our Rouge Valley Home in Scarborough, ON.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and various tasks including PM checks, mechanical operations, building inspections, minor repairs, furniture moving, and grounds maintenance, following Extendicare policies, facility guidelines, trade / CSA legislation, and sanitation procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, and hazardous situations to your supervisor.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience, preferably in an institutional setting.
• Technical skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with an older adult population is an asset.
• Strong customer service and resident care skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Willingness to learn new tasks and multi-task effectively.
