Qualifications

  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Secondary / Post Secondary School
  • Certified Red Seal Millwright License 433A

Related Work Experience:

  • A minimum 5 years experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright or Industrial Electrician

Specific Skills / Trade or Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational, verbal, written, and communicative skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of production equipment and best practices
  • Well versed in Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electrical, with a basic knowledge of PLC’s
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Applications, Web Based Applications, and SAP

Operating Responsibilities

  • Engaged in supporting MPS initiatives (i.e., Safety, SMED, Continuous Improvement, 6S, etc.)
  • Lead by example to ensure Metrie’s core value is met; P.R.I.C.E (Passion, Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence)
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches operations manuals, manufacturers instructions and engineering specifications
  • Ensure daily production continuously meets the requirements of IFOTIS (In full, On Time, In Spec)
  • Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions, diagnose equipment problems, and repair accordingly
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC based automated production line, and diagnose issues with contactors, relays, sensors and motors.
  • Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devises in operation; listening for problems using precision testing and monitoring equipment
  • Removal and installation of equipment parts, using hoists and hand / power tools
  • Adjustment of equipment based on production requirements
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
  • Fabricates and repairs parts by using machine shop instrumentation; Milling Machine, Lathe, Grinders, etc.
  • Maintains equipment parts, supplies inventories by monitoring stock to determine inventory levels
  • Quoting of materials, parts, and outsourcing of fabrication projects; placing orders, expediting orders, and receipt / packing slip verification
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continual needs
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by supervision / management

Safety Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply all safety policies & regulations (5 Steps to a Safe Day)
  • Trained and competent in Job Hazards (JH) as per the Job Hazard Assessment (JHA)
  • Follow all lockout procedures mandatory within the department
  • Demonstrate leadership in accident prevention through LPA reporting
  • Conducting S.S.A’s as per scheduled requirements
  • Full knowledge of machine operating procedures as per SOP’s and hazard assessments

Physical Demands

  • Constant: Standing
  • Lifting: Floor to waist, waist to floor
  • Pushing / Pulling: Frequent when relocating projects, installing equipment
  • Hand to eye coordination and dexterity: Picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and repetitive rotation

Who You Are

During the training and onboarding process, you must be available during the following weekday shifts:

  • Day Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM
