Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly, and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced, and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Maintenance Technician / Millwright at our 591 Arvin facility.

    Job Summary & Reporting Structure :

    Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician / Millwright is responsible for performing and documenting all necessary maintenance and repairs for all production equipment and facilities, ensuring that plant and processing equipment are in safe and good working order. They will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in resolving equipment problems and installing new equipment. They are also responsible for adhering to policies and procedures and practicing continuous improvement wherever possible.

    Responsibilities :

    • Ensure plant equipment is safely launched at the start of shift and shut down at the end of shift.
    • Carry out daily monitoring of machinery and report any abnormalities.
    • Perform and document scheduled maintenance as outlined on Maintenance Request logs; ensure safety issues are handled in a timely manner.
    • Rebuild and calibrate robot guns as required; monitor and maintain fluid delivery and key processing equipment, ensuring minimal breakdowns and ongoing compliance with government environmental and production standards.
    • Troubleshoot and assess basic mechanical and electrical equipment problems; make recommendations for repairs and implement where feasible.
    • Assist Maintenance Supervisor in resolving equipment problems, installing new equipment, and other special projects.
    • Perform and document minor modifications and repairs to customer tooling.
    • Comply with all company health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe work environment at all times, and report accidents, incidents, and potential hazards immediately.
    • In conjunction with other departments, participate in identifying and analyzing non-conformances or paint application/production/quality problems; develop, implement, and verify corrective actions.
    • Work on rotating shifts (3am-12pm and 12pm-9pm).
    • Overtime on Saturdays.
    • Promote continuous improvement in all areas of Maintenance.
    • Perform duties as assigned from time to time.

    Qualifications :

    • Grade 12 or equivalent and applicable certificate of qualification or in pursuit thereof, or equivalent work experience.
    • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
    • Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
    • Working knowledge of applicable standards.
    • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with injection mold equipment is preferred.
