Job summary

Circle K is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join the Central Canada Maintenance Team. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and maintain store operations, focusing on Frozen Beverage equipment and general store maintenance.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 3–5 years maintenance experience, and 1–2 years in C-store preventive maintenance. The role involves field work with possible overnight travel.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the maintenance field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in C-store Preventative Maintenance, food service repairs, plumbing or HVAC/refrigeration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on Frozen Beverage units.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, clean and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Carry out light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing and lighting tasks.
  • Document actions and communicate needs to teammates.
  • Ensure repairs are cost-effective and properly documented.
  • Participate in training on existing and new equipment.
  • Maintain safety policies and comply with regulations.
  • Most work in the field and some travel may be required.

Maintenance Technician

Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 CAD per year

THE ROLE

We are currently hiring for a Maintenance Technician to join our Central Canada Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the Maintenance Technician will maintain store operations. In this role you will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance primarily on Frozen Beverage Equipment, repairing Convenience Store equipment and general maintenance work in stores.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • (Primary daily function) Perform Preventative Maintenance on Frozen Beverage units.
  • Maintains equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains facilities by performing light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, cleaning, lighting work.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Ensures preventative repairs are performed cost effectively by examining records, reports operating practices and other documentation.
  • Participate in training classes for existing and new equipment.
  • Ensures maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operation policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by abiding to safety policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
  • Majority of time will be spent in the field
  • May require some travel including overnight stay

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the maintenance field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in C-store Preventative Maintenance, food service repairs, plumbing or HVAC/refrigeration preferred.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities and ability to work independently.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and be insurable as a driver.
  • Highly organized and work well under pressure/deadlines with the ability to multi-task.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to crouch, crawl, push, pull, bend, stoop and/or reach.
  • Ability to carry, erect and climb ladders.
  • Ability to lift as much as 80 pounds.
