Spartan Staffing Solutions is seeking a Field Technician for our Vancouver, BC team. You will service and repair material handling equipment, ensuring it runs to manufacturer specifications. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for career growth.

You will diagnose, fix, and maintain equipment, with some overtime and a company vehicle provided. A high school diploma is required, plus 3+ years in forklift repair and a trade certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required; trade/technical certification is preferred.
  • 3+ years forklift repair or related industry experience.
  • Ability to read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Rebuild and/or repair components and systems as needed.
  • Block, chock and chain equipment; disassemble for major component repair
  • Perform routine maintenance per manufacturer specs and document work
  • Conduct diagnostic troubleshooting and failure analysis
  • Inspect equipment and maintain clean, safe work area
  • Attend safety meetings and participate in safety culture
  • Take home company vehicle and support future growth

Spartan Staffing Solutions has partnered with a leader in Material Handling Equipment rental and sales company. Together we are searching for a Field Technician for their team in Vancouver BC.

Field Technicians perform service and repairs on material handling equipment to ensure it continues to run according to manufacturer’s specifications. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with strong potential for future growth and career advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, lifting systems, etc.
  • Rebuild and/or repair all components and systems
  • Properly block, chock and chain equipment, and disassemble equipment as needed to facilitate major component removal and repair
  • Perform routine and operational maintenance to all equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and failure analysis
  • Perform equipment inspections
  • Record maintenance and repair work completing necessary paperwork in a timely manner
  • Complete basic and advanced technical training as assigned
  • Maintain parts and supplies needed for job completion
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and ensure shop remains a safe working environment
  • Maintain a culture of safety & participate in all safety meetings
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of all equipment & operations that apply to the branch
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge and problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Own tools
Experience/Education
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in forklift repair or related industry
  • Ability to read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges,
