Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Ontario to respond to service requests, monitor BAS, and support facility equipment across healthcare settings. You will lead tradespeople, manage permits, and ensure safety standards are met while maintaining comprehensive records.

We require 2–5 years of relevant experience, a BES 1 & 2 or Facility Maintenance course, and BAS knowledge. HVAC exposure is an asset; eligibility for Security Clearance is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• BES 1 & 2 or Facility Maintenance course.
• Knowledge of Building Automation System (BAS).
• HVAC experience is an asset.
• Maintenance experience in healthcare settings preferred.
• Eligible to obtain Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency, urgent, routine service requests and perform preventive/corrective actions on equipment.
• Monitor equipment and BAS via facility walkthroughs.
• Lead tradespeople and subcontractors; issue permits and report noncompliance.
• Maintain conformance to Environmental Management System in key areas.
• Attend training as required by EDFS and jurisdictions.
• Maintain records and close PM/work orders on the PDA.
• Provide written estimates for repairs and new projects.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to staff.
• Assist with facility-related projects.
• Inventory management and other duties as required.

You As a Maintenance Technician Will

• Respond to emergency, urgent, routine on-demand service requests and performs preventative and corrective action on facility mechanical equipment and systems
• Monitor assigned equipment and systems by conducting facility walkthroughs and Building Automation (BAS) monitoring
• Lead tradesmen/ subcontractors (accompany) on equipment repair, preventative maintenance and calibration. Issue permit-to-work and hot work permits. Report any noncompliance and safety-related matter
• Ensure conformance to the Environmental Management System within key process areas
• Attend and participate in training programs as required by EDFS and local city and provincial jurisdictions
• Maintain records and information pertinent to work assignments
• Close PM and routine work orders on the PDA after completing work assignments
• Provide written estimates on work-related repairs and new construction projects as requested
• Strict adherence to safety guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Provide technical and functional guidance to other staff
• Ensure and maintains compliance with assets under the management of FM
• Inventory management
• Assist with facility-related projects
• Other duties as required

Is this the right role for you?

• Minimum 2-5 years’ relevant experience
• Building Environmental Services (BES) 1& 2 or Facility Maintenance Related Course
• Knowledge of Building Automation System (BAS)
• Experience in HVAC is an asset
• Maintenance experience in a medical/hospital/healthcare setting strongly preferred
• Eligible to obtain Security Clearance
• The hourly rate for this role is $30.50 - $30.97
