Job summary

Edon Management is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support building operations at NAIT Campus. This full-time role suits someone who enjoys practical maintenance, troubleshooting, and independently keeping spaces safe and well‑maintained.

You’ll perform repairs, routine inspections, and coordinate with contractors, with opportunities to grow skills through on‑the‑job training and benefits. A valid Alberta driver’s license and ability to travel between Edmonton sites are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two to three years of maintenance experience, asset.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites in Edmonton.
• Ability to use basic power tools and perform preventive maintenance.
• Good English communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior door repair, painting, drywall repair, and related tasks.
• Assist building operations, escort contractors, and coordinate with service providers.
• Respond to on-demand service requests and emergencies.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire alarm panels.
• Complete weekly/monthly checks, logs, and building inspections.
• Support preventive maintenance and maintenance documentation.

What Will Make You a Great Fit

We are looking for an individual with a proactive approach to maintenance. If you have experience troubleshooting along with a passion for ensuring everything runs smoothly, you might be the perfect fit for our team!

To Excel In This Role, You Should Be

• Minimum of two three years previous experience considered an asset
• Completed Grade 12 education
• A clean driver's abstract and willingness to travel between sites within Edmonton
• Valid 5th class power engineering ABSA ticket will be an asset
• Ownership of and ability to carry a sufficient set of tools to perform day-to-day maintenance tasks independently
• Able to use basic power tools and complete basic building maintenance
• Basic command of the English language (written and verbal)
• Exceptional skills in communications, organizational, interpersonal and time management
• Plumbing and HVAC knowledge would be considered an asset
• Proven experience in exercising good judgement under pressure
• Physically fit, able to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time and lift in excess of 25 kilograms
• Carpentry/Construction skills considered an asset
• Strong customer care and communication skill

What will your role involve?

As a Maintenance Technician, Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

• Performing general maintenance tasks such as interior door repair and installation, interior painting, drywall repairs, and other related duties.
• Utilizing a wide range of self-provided hand and power tools, with knowledge of basic carpentry skills including painting and drywall repair, is considered an asset.
• Supporting building operations and functions as required, including contractor escorts, on-site orientation support, and follow-up with contractors on completed work.
• Responding immediately to on-demand service requests and emergencies related to client and building operations.
• Troubleshooting building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire alarm panels.
• Completing routine inspections and required documentation, including weekly and monthly checks/tasks, logs, full interior and exterior building inspections, and roof top checks.
• Performing and tracking preventive maintenance (PM) activities and time-sensitive reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
• Identifying and reporting all deficiencies to the Operations Supervisor and Maintenance Scheduler to ensure consistent, worry-free service delivery.
• Using Edon systems and tools proficiently, including work orders, expense submissions, time sheets, mileage tracking, and learning plans, while working independently and efficiently.
