Maintenance Technician City Property Management – Edmonton, AB

About the Position

Reporting to the Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing in‑suite maintenance and property maintenance to ensure the property is maintained to a high standard.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate suite turnovers which will include – move‑out inspections, drywall repair, patching, painting installing hardware, door adjustments, coordinating with trades any major fixes
  • Respond to tenant maintenance requests that are submitted through our communication portal.
  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Check electrical, fire and plumbing systems of buildings to ensure functionality.
  • Conduct move‑out inspections for vacating residents, noting any maintenance issues and ensuring units are ready for the next tenant. Document and report damage or repair needs.
  • Troubleshoot, install and repair minor plumbing fixtures, piping and related equipment.
  • Monitor and keep updated records of equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
  • Keep maintenance log and report daily activities to the Property Manager.
  • Maintain relationship with third party such as contractors and service providers.
  • Assist with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues, as directed.
  • Assist with landscaping tasks, snow removal, trash removal, and other routine maintenance duties to keep the property in top condition.
  • Provide back‑up for Resident Coordinator and Resident Manager during absences.
  • Other related maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a maintenance technician or a similar construction role is required.
  • Good understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems required. Must have experience painting and completing drywall repairs
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required.
  • Commute to different site locations within the Edmonton Metropolitan areas to perform maintenance tasks.
